The Dubuque Food Co-op has EXCITING news!
If you were able to attend the open house this past Saturday morning, you heard that we were waiting on some news. Well, we’ve got great news to share with you! Yesterday Dubuque Initiatives announced a $200,000 investment challenge. The challenge is; if the Dubuque Food Co-op generates preferred share investments of $200,000, Dubuque Initiatives will match the funds with a preferred share investment of $200,000. A successful completion of this challenge would result in reaching our fundraising goal.
THE CO-OP NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT NOW MORE THAN EVER!
Are you up for the challenge? We are so close we can smell it! (Every organic ounce!) If you have been waiting for the right moment to invest, NOW is the time! Keep in mind, every dollar invested will bring us closer to our $200,000 goal. The moment we reach the $200,000 mark, it will be matched by Dubuque Initiatives for a grand total of $400,000. At that moment, we will sign a lease, order the refrigeration, and begin planning our grand opening.
Let’s hit that final 200K together! And let’s do it FAST!

We are seeking an experienced, energetic leader with a strong co-op background to help hire and build a successful management team and prepare for our store opening in mid-2013. The ability to use a collaborative, participatory process at all levels of the organization is a key part of this position. A good understanding of and commitment to cooperative values, a background in natural foods, and experience in strategic planning, marketing, budgeting, margin control, and merchandising in a competitive market are highly desirable.
